About

Despite early struggles with dyslexia, Elizabeth has always loved books. Her most treasured memories are those of curling up with her sister while their mother read stories aloud, from The Berenstain Bears, on up through A Wrinkle in Time.

She has also nurtured a lifelong love of drawing. Growing up, a sketchbook tucked under her arm was a favorite accessory, and later she earned a bachelor’s degree in art from Connecticut College.

In recent years, she has sought to marry these two passions as an author and illustrator of children’s books.

Elizabeth firmly believes that most things are best enjoyed outside. She is deeply inspired by our connection to the natural world, both for its undeniable magic, and for the hope it delivers. As the mother of two young children, she also finds the messy business of sibling-hood endlessly fascinating, heartbreaking, and funny—just like her favorite stories.

Elizabeth lives in Baltimore with her husband, children and a variety of pets.
